Abstract

1) A paper on "The Women's Franchise Bill: what effect will its passing have upon the Temperance movement?", read by Mrs. Wright in 1886/87, is referred back to, as is the discussion which followed the paper, in which several women participated, among them Isabella Tod and Florence Balgarnie. Also some resolutions which were moved and supported at the time by Mrs. Pearson, Dr. Kate Mitchell, and others, are mentioned. 2) Announcement of a speech by Lady Henry Somerset, "and probably Miss Willard," at "the Conference at St. James's Hall."
