1) It is mentioned that the three women, who of late form part of the Colorado State Senate, have all made their maiden speeches. "[...] the verdict seems to be that two of the ladies, Mrs. Holly and Mrs. Cressingham, are ready speakers who never say a word too much. Mrs. Klock, the third lady, does not shine as a speaker, but is said to be gifted with much tact and common sense." 2) Miss Clementina Black and Mrs. Amie Hicks spoke on the issue of the rising age of half-timers as part of a deputation to the Home secretary and other MPs. 3) Miss Grace Haariman's series of six lectures on "Tomato and Fruit Growing for Women", given at the Forestry Exhibition, Earl's Court, in 1893, is mentioned.
