Abstract

1) Association of Irish Schoolmistresses: "Miss M'Killip [...] read an interesting and exhaustive paper on 'The Physical Training of Girls,'" which is followed by a discussion in which several women take part. "Miss Barton, Ardnagrena School, also read a valuable paper [...] on 'The founding, aims, and organization of the institution.'" 2) Suffrage - Edinburgh: Includes an excerpt from an address by Mrs. McLaren on the continued struggle for women's suffrage. Other women move or second resolutions. 3) Women and Peace: Mrs. Southey gives "an eloquent address" on "the brutalising effect that war has on human beings" at a meeting of the Moral Reform Union. 4) Wages of Women: At a meeting of working women, "[s]everal women spoke," some of their statements being recorded. 5) Miscellaneous - Women and the Drink Question: Four women speak at a temperance demonstration. Their addresses are briefly summarised. Custody of Children: "Dr. Alice Vickery lectured at South Palace Institute [...] on the laws relating to this subject." Emigration: The Hon. Mrs. Joyce speaks on the advantages of emigration.
