1) Women Poor Law Guardians in Ireland: At a public meeting presumably organised by the Women's Suffrage Society, "Miss Rowan, of the Primrose League, and Mrs. E. Harrington, wife of the Nationlist ex-M.P.," give speeches. Also mentions a meeting in Belfast, "held at the residence of Miss Tod." 2) Trades' Union Congress: At the Congress's meeting in Edinburgh, Miss E. Whyte speaks on restricted working hours for women in moving a resolution. Her remarks are quoted in paraphrase. 3) British Association: Lists five papers "contributed by ladies at the meeting of the British Association held this year in Liverpool:" two in the Botanical Section, one in the Chemistry Section on "The Teaching of Science in Girls' Schools," and two in the Anthropological Section, written by Miss Christian Maclagan, who was 85 years old at the time, and read for her by Mrs. Stopes. The last three papers are briefly summarised. A wooden model is used to illustrate one of Maclagan's lectures.
