1) London School of Medicine: Eliza Orme gives an opening adress on science and politics, which is briefly paraphrased. 2) The Church Congress, Portsmouth: Mentions how "[n]o ladies have hitherto been permitted to speak at any of the meetings, but they were allowed to contribute papers." Miss Weston thus reads a paper on "mission work among sailors and marines." 3) Trades' Union Congress: Miss Wilkinson speaks in proposing an amendment to a political programme. Her speech is briefly paraphrased. 4) Women in Temperance Work - Temperance Jubilee: At a conference held in celebration of the Newcastle Temperance Society's jubilee, several women speak. 5) British Association: Two women read papers in the anthropological section, on American shellwork and historical methods of processing corn, respectively. 6) Social Purity and the Duty of Parents: At an exclusively female meeting, several women speak. 7) Miscellaneous: The Countess of Portsmouth delivers an address during an award ceremony.
