1) Women's Political Organisations, Cheshire - Liberal Associations: At the Cheshire Women's Liberal Assocation's first public demonstration, Mrs. Eva McLaren presides and speaks. Presentation to a Cheshire Lady: Mrs. Tomkinson is presented with a tiara in recognition of her work, and gives an address. She is described as "a very effective speaker." Darwen Division Liberal League: At "a crowded and enthusiastic meeting," Millicent Fawcett speaks on "The Influence on Character of Political Conditions." An excerpt is included, as well as a brief paraphrase of remarks by a second female speaker. Primrose League Meetings - Southport: Mrs. Oram reads a memorial, which is reproduced, and supports its adoption "in a few well-chosen words." Two further female speakers are named. 2) Women's Suffrage - Dublin: At a largely attended meeting, Laura Ormiston Chant speaks at length on gender equality. Manchester: Lydia Becker reads the report. Longsight: "A lecture was delivered by Miss Becker." London: "Mrs. Fawcett gave a lecture [...] on 'The Influence of Character on Political Conditions.'" "Miss Balgarnie gave an address on 'The Duties of Women as Citizens' at a meeting of women." 3) Temperance Work: "Meetings were held each evening [...] and were addressed by the president (Mrs. Golding) and several ladies interested in the temperance movement." British Women's Temperance Association, Bedford: Three women speak at a tea. Dublin: Lists several meetings arranged by Laura Ormiston Chant and Mrs. Haslam, some for women only. 4) National Political Union: At a "discussion meeting," Mrs. Westlake, Mrs. Charles Mallet, Miss Davenport Hill, and further (male) speakers speak on free education. 5) Lectures: Florence Fenwick Miller speaks on "Woman's Position, Past, Present and Future.'" 6) Custody of Children: "Miss Abney Walker read a paper on 'Ought the Laws regarding the Custody of Children be Modified?'" 7) Protection of Girls: "Mrs. Ormiston Chant gave an address on the present protection of girls [...] at a meeting of women only." Mentions a second meeting, and the respective chairwomen. 8) Manchester: At a conference of women, Mrs. Fawcett presides and speaks. "Papers were contriubuted by Mrs. Barnett, Miss Janes and Miss Grafton." 9) Missionary Conference, Clapham: "[O]ne morning was given up to papers upon woman's work" read by "Mrs. Gardner James on Europe, Miss Thompson on Syria, and Miss Baumann, of Lucknow, on India." 10) Moral Reform: Mrs. Susanna Meredith speaks on "Providing Industial Employment for Women Rescued from Evil Ways."
