Abstract
Humorous report on a literary ladies' meeting, at which toasts are made and discussed. A lady is quoted with stating that "she was unaccustomed to public speaking, or, rather, speaking at public dinners." A connection is made in conversation between the circulation of a book and an author's having "been such a very long time before the public."
