Abstract

An article by Laura Ormiston Chant on her travels from New England to Nova Scotia, in which she mentiones "addressing a fasionable Washington audience in the handsomest of drawing-rooms" as well as having given "60 lectures, addresses and sermons" over the course of six weeks. She describes travelling to a lecture by sleigh, a local audience member's comment on women lecturing, and muses how "what British women are doing is a never-ending theme of interest to lecture on, both in the States and in Canada."
