Ames, author of Great Thoughts for Little Thinkers, spoke on 'The Teaching of Morality [sic] at the anniversary meeting of the Sunday School Society at Botson, USA." 2) "Mrs. Kate Gannett Wells is the president of the Massachusetts Moral Educational Association, which held its anniversary at Boston. Mrs. Julia Ward Howe gave an address on 'The Ideals of Life.'" 3) "Madame Fischer-Duckelmann, of Offenbach-on-Maine, has been lecturing with great success in Vienna and Mayence, on Cookery and Dress Reform." 4) "Mrs. Tirard (Miss Helen Beloe) will give a course of lectures on Egyptology, at the King's College Classes for Ladies [...]. Mrs. Tirard will also lecture in the British Museum on the same subject." 5) "An Esquimo Lady, Olas [sic] Krarer, has been lecturing in America on the manners and customs of her country, with much success." 6) "Mrs. Ormiston Chant has been invited to preach the Anniversary sermons and write the hymns for the Oxford Congregational Church in October."
