Abstract

Mrs. Leavitt travels around the world, addressing meetings to promote temperance. She uses interpreters and has already held 1,300 meetings. Describes her "manner of speaking [as] easy and conversational [and] not without its playful, humorous side." Mentions that "she was the first woman to break the ice by speaking at a prayer meeting of her own denomination"; Mrs. Leavitt is a preacher and lectures on temperance.
