1) Wansbeck and Morpeth: Mrs. R.S.Watson, President of the Newcastle Association of the Women's Liberal Federation, gave a lecture entitled "An Irish Social Reformer fifty years ago" at a meeting of the Wansbeck Association. In it she argued for an increased involvement of women in politics. 2) Norwich: At a meeting of the Norwich Association, Mrs. Mottram spoke about female franchise, and urged women who already had a vote, to use it and actively participate in politics. At the same meeting, Miss H. Coleman narrated an anecdote from her trip to Switzerland, were she had been labelled a radical by a gentleman due to her outspokenness about her political ideals. 3) Stockport: At a tea meeting of the Stockport Women's Liberal Association, Mrs. Ormiston Chant (London) gave an "eloquent and earnest" address on the subject of female franchise. In it she campaigned for equal voting rights for men and women, claiming that it was only through the right to vote that women could exert their positive influence over politics, and urging those women who already had a vote to use their power to extend this right to those who still strove for it.
