1) "Dr. Phoebe J.B. Wait, Dean of of the New York Medical College and Hospital for Women, has addressed a pertinent appeal to the Medical Faculty of McGill University, Montreal, in suport of the effort now being made by Canadian women to obtain admission to the medical courses. [...]" 2) "Signora Maria Rosa gave a literary lecture at Rimini which was warmly praised by the press. L'Italia said that the frequent and hearty applause which she received was well deserved, but that it did not add anything to the celebrity which she has acquired among Italy's literati. Signora Adele Butti gave an interesting lecture on Joan of Arc, in the Ateneo at Venice, in which she brought out in good effect the high soldierly qualities and burning patriotism of the Maid of Orleans."
