Abstract

1) Miss Milner spoke at the a meeting of the Loughborough Habitation, as well as at several other Habitations of the Primrose League. 2) Heanor Women's Liberal Association: At a meeting at Heanor Town Hall, Lady Foster, who presided over the meeting, addressed the assembled, urging women to take up their part in politics and become active in their fight for their own ideas. 3) Crewe: At a public meeting held in connection with the Willaston branch of the Women's Liberal Association, Mrs. Eva McLaren gave a lecture, detailing her visit to Constantinople. "The lecture, which was of a highly instructive character, was followed with the greatest interest, Mrs. McLaren being frequently applauded." 4) Women's Liberal Association, South Kensington: At a gathering of the Association, Mrs. C. Greenwood gave an address on "Women's Trade Unions", and not only gave statistics on the apalling living and working conditions of women, but also shared personal experiences with her audience. Afterwards, Mrs. Grenfell read a paper on the same subject. Finally, there were recitations and other entertainments. 5) Formation of a Women's Liberal Association at Artherton: Mrs. Wright of Tyldesley presided over a meeting at the Atherton Liberal Club, where it was decided to create a local branch of the Association, and that it should be presided over by Mrs. Wright herself.
