Abstract

"At the International Congress on Vegetarianism, recently held in London, Miss Yates read a paper on 'The Staff of Life,' and Mrs. Lewis spoke on humanity to animals [...]. Louise Michel, who spoke in French, said she hoped the time had come when not only men and women would be delivered from suffering, but also the innocent non-human races."
