Abstract

Criticises news reporting on a lecture on socialism delivered in French by Louise Michel. The article supposes that "[h]ad she been a Frenchman, the half column would not have been such unreadable stuff as it is." It also attempts to reconstruct possible statements by the speaker from "the very invovled and complicated report which appears in the daily papers."
