Abstract

1) India - Child Marriage: Report on a lecture by Dr. Edith Pechey Phipson to an audience "largely composed of young men" in Mumbai. The content is briefly summarised. Report on the Indian Magazine beginning a new series with a paper read by Mrs. Brander at a meeting in London. Includes an excerpt. 2) Denmark: "Miss Ida Falbe-Hansen has taken her degree in the Danish language and literature. This is the first time a woman has lectured before the faculty of the University." 3) United States - South Dakota: Mentions Susan B. Anthony, Laura Johns, and the Rev. Anna H. Shaw "holding meetings and lectures" in support of female suffrage. The Women's Temperance Temple, Chicago: Report on the conception of the Temple which mentions that the Union Signal "contains a full report of the address by Miss Frances Willard on the occasion of laying the corner stone."
