Abstract

At a "very successful meeting" of the Bedford Women's Liberal Association at the local Liberal Club, Miss Browne, secretary of the Society for Promoting the Return of Women as County Councillors, spoke in favour of once again allowing women to serve on Council boards. "The paper lasted for three-quarters of an hour, and Miss Browne spoke with great clearness. - Miss Porter read an interesting paper on 'Home Training and Social Progress.'"
